This turbo blanket should be fitted OVER the existing OEM heat shield

The Forge Motorsport FMTUBL9 has been designed for the Mercedes A45, GLA, CLA  AMG  stock turbo chargers. This turbo blanket is designed to isolate the radiant heat produced by the turbocharger by further insulating the OE heat shield, the Forge turbo blanket also incorporates further protection to the engines down pipe.

This design has been created to withstand the harshest of environments and proven to withstand temperatures up to 1370°C (2500°F) of radiant heat, which will assist in protecting and prolonging the life of engine components.

Design innovation keeps the heat of the exhaust gases contained within the hot side of the turbocharger, away from the cool side and the intake path which helps reduce turbo lag and air intake temperatures resulting in more power.

Please note that a turbo blanket will lose its flexibility over the first few heat cycles as the material cures, so once fitted it should not be routinely removed as this can cause damage to the blanket.
