Phase 1 — Foundation (DS1 Tune + Intake)
Start with the two most effective baseline upgrades: the DS1 tune for smart ECU control, and the IE Carbon Fiber Intake for airflow and response. Together they wake up the 2.5T, sharpen throttle, and lay the groundwork for every future phase.
- ~480–500 whp on E30–E85
- Improved spool and turbo induction sound
- Baseline logging, boost/fuel/timing control
- Prepares for higher boost & hardware upgrades
Pairing both ensures smooth airflow and consistent data logs from day one.
Phase 2 — Cooling & Headroom (Intercooler + Crash Bar + 4-Bar MAP)
Stabilize IATs and airflow with the 3.5" full-face intercooler and matching slim crash bar, then extend ECU headroom with the 4-bar MAP sensor pair (charge pipe + manifold).
- Intercooler + Crash Bar: best installed together with bumper off for fitment and airflow
- 4-Bar MAP Pair: matched scaling for higher boost; prevents sensor mismatch and limp
- ~520–560 whp potential on E blends with DS1 and good logs
3.5" Shielded Downpipe
The factory downpipe restricts turbine flow and traps heat. This shielded 3.5" design frees the exhaust side, drops EGTs, and sharpens spool with a deeper tone.
- ~560–600 whp potential with DS1 + IC + DP
- Full stainless with integrated heat shielding
- Direct-fit for RS3/TTRS DAZA/DNWA
Phase 3 — Fuel Headroom (EA855 EVO DI Injectors)
When DI duty nears ~90% on ethanol, move to the balanced EA855 EVO DI set for clean spray and tuning headroom.
- Up to ~50% more flow • E85 compatible • Flow-matched
- ~650–700 whp capable with full support
Phase 4 — Power Hardware (M880H Turbo)
Dual-ceramic bearings and big airflow with fast spool. Pair with ethanol, DI upgrade, and Phase 2 hardware.
- ~700–750+ whp on E85 with full support
Phase 5 — Shift Strategy (TVS DQ500 TCU)
Lift torque limits, sharpen shift logic, and keep the powerband planted. Puts more of the engine’s power to the ground.
- Feels like +20–30 whp from quicker shifts
Phase 6 — Traction & Balance (VD Veer Haldex)
Dial rear torque bias for launches, rolls, or street balance. Grip over wheelspin, period.
- Supports 750+ whp setups
