Audi RS3 & TTRS Build Guide: Unlocking the 2.5T DAZA Platform
Building an Audi RS3 or TTRS: The 2.5T DAZA Platform Guide
The Audi RS3 and TTRS share one of the most exciting engines in the enthusiast world — the 2.5-liter inline-five turbocharged DAZA/DNWA. With 400 HP from the factory and a bulletproof engine block, the 2.5T platform responds incredibly well to modifications.
Why the 2.5T Is Special
The five-cylinder layout produces a distinctive exhaust note that no four or six-cylinder can match. Combined with Quattro all-wheel drive, the RS3 and TTRS deliver launch capabilities that embarrass cars costing twice as much.
Power Levels at a Glance
- Stock: 394-401 HP / 369-354 lb-ft
- Stage 1 (tune only): ~480 HP / ~430 lb-ft
- Stage 2 (tune + downpipe): ~520 HP / ~470 lb-ft
- Stage 3 (hybrid turbo): 600-700+ HP
Essential Mods for Every RS3/TTRS
- ECU Tune — The single biggest gain on this platform. A Stage 1 calibration unlocks nearly 80 HP.
- High-Flow Downpipe — Our Mabotech 3.5" shielded downpipe is specifically designed for the DAZA engine with a thermal shield to protect the tunnel.
- Upgraded Intercooler — The factory intercooler is the weak link on this platform. Our Mabotech RS3/TTRS intercooler dramatically reduces intake temps.
- Carbon Fiber Intake — A cold air intake with a carbon fiber airbox feeds the turbo cold, dense air.
- 4-Bar Map Sensors — Required for accurate boost readings beyond the factory sensor's range on tuned cars.
